Charity Bracelet by Yfke Sturm

The full schedule of topmodel Yfke Sturm doesn’t keep her from contributing for charity. Yfke is one of the ambassadors of the Red Cross and has her own fund named ‘Yfke for Kids Fonds’ where she helps raising money to help children in need worldwide.

The idea of a charity bracelet popped up when she got a little bracelet as a gift from a friend. The tender gesture made her think; why not create a similar piece of jewelry for the Red Cross? Her friends from TOV essentials, Sahrissa and Michael, were totally excited by the idea and together they designed the bracelet that is handcrafted in Florence at the TOV ateliers. The bracelet is a fine piece of jewelry made out of (Red Cross) red coloured string with a small tag with a doublé finishing and with a little stone for an elegant touch.

The idea behind the charity bracelet is that it is a bracelet for every day. You don’t need to take it of while showering or going to the gym. Wear it every day and night and be remembered of the good things you can do for people an especially children in need.

On February 16th is the festive launch of the Charity Bracelet. The bracelet is for sale via TOV essentials, the magazine Beaumonde and of course Little Soho!

Anna Wintour & friends for Obama

With the upcoming American elections coming up in November, Anna Wintour must have thought it was time for some action. The editor-in-chief of fashion bible Vogue will, alongside with 22 top designers, start a campaign for the re-election of president Obama.

Designers as Alexander Wang, Diane von Fürstenberg, Jason Wu and Marc Jacobs are also having the American politics on their mind, as they were all willing to help Ms. Wintour in her campaign to help re-elect the first African-American president. The designers will collaborate to create special items as bags and t-shirts of which all of the profits will go to the Obama Victory Fund. Also, in February there will be a special ‘Runway to Win’ fashion-event, organized by Anna Wintour.

This is not the first time that the world-renowned editor-in-chief of the American Vogue steps to the plate for the elections. Four years earlier she also held all kinds of events to raise money for Obama’s campaign budget.

A funny fact is, that LVMH doesn’t want its brands to participate with Anna Wintour political fashion events, because they’re afraid to lose their republican customers. Abide by the wishes of the big boss, Donna Karan chose not to be part of the campaign. Marc Jacobs, who is the head designer of Louis Vuitton, took the more rebellious way and chose to show his support for Obama as well.
