Oscars 2011: which dress do you like the most?

Yesterday was the 83rd edition of the Oscar Awards and the attention was certainly not only focused on the potential winners…For us fashion lovers the real prize is what all the nominated actresses are wearing on the red carpet.  This year many actresses ‘played it safe’ with classy red and black dresses. The pregnant Oscar-winner Natalie Portman looks amazing in her dress of Rodarte. And for us, Halle Berry (in Marchesa), Michelle Wiliams (in Chanel Haute Couture) and Hilary Swank (in Gucci Premiere) stood out. They went for good old Hollywood glitz and glamour, opting for dresses enriched with lace and sequins in a figure hugging silhouet. Just as it should be!

Yolanthe for Milan Fashion Week

We are excited, Milan Fashion week has started this week! And especially: our Dutch tv-host and football wife Yolanthe Sneijder-Cabau walked on designer John Richmond’s catwalkshow.

She appeared in a wonderful white winter coat with a fur scarf.  Yes, fur is a must-have next winter.
After the winter coat, she changed into an edgy black dress with a-symmetric leather top and a skirt of thousand ruffles. Accessorized with some tough jewelry and smokey eyes, she was ready for her final walk. We thought she looked great!

She rocked three times on the runway and also had the honor of closing the show arm in arm with the designer as his muse.

According to rumors, the editors in chief from Vogue and Vanity Fair, would sit front row during the show. But unfortunately, they were not presented. Also Wesley couldn’t come, but it doesn’t matter: Yolanthe worked the runway as a pro!

Great selection of the London Fashion Week

The London Fashion Week is still going on, but we like to show you a selection of the most fantastic collections of different designers:

Burberry mainly showed outdoor fashion: double breasted, tailored coats and sometimes a classy tweed suit in the recognizable Burberry checkered pattern, in traditional black&white or in trendy bright colors, inspired by the sixties.

Wow! Everything is possible as we look to the collection of Vivienne Westwood. We saw models with extreme make-up and hair -clown-inspired- in designs of dresses with draperies, coats with a sharp silhouet and oversized suits. The collection is based on the painful climate change. Her revenue goes to charities. Good initiative!

The collection AW’11 of Mulberry is inspired by the English wildlife and turner landscapes. That’s why we saw a lot of khaki, brown and black shades. The designs looks feminine and classic by the high tailored dresses, swirly skirts and the tweed suits. And not to forget the famous bags, in one word AMAZING!

Coming soon: collection ss’11 Magali Pascal

Designer Magali Pascal is one of our favorites! By the exotic Balinese influences and inspiration from her French origin flow the finest collections continue. Her superior talent has not gone unnoticed, since she conquers the world with her sence of style.

The collection SS’11 of Magali Pascal is again sophisticated and feminine just as her previous collections. Jumpsuits of airy silk and dresses with feminine draperies characterize this collection. The designs are mostly dressed in nude shades with sometimes a brigth red item. As we known of Magali, her creations are enriched with a touch of glamour. Like the harem pant all-over set with sequins is a real eyecatcher!  Coming soon at Little Soho!
