After the successful edition of last year, the special combination -the Mix & Match Show by Danie, the Haute Couture Show by Mart Visser and the care of Miele- will organize also this year a full-length fashion event.

During this second edition Danie bles will translate her fashion knowledge into a dazzling show. The models will show surprising outfits of  an unique combination of national and international brands. Based on themes, different styles will be combined. This allows the stylist to show the trends for the new season, with brands from Chanel to H&M.

Estée Lauder companies will asked again this year attention for breast cancer. The Estée Lauder Pink Ribbon Award’s theme this time is ‘Together’. Because together we fight for a future without breast cancer.

At the Pink Ribbon Award Gala, which will take place in September, belongs a photo competition. Professionals ánd amateur photographers can participate this contest. It’s intended that the theme will be despicted and that life after breast cancer has future perspective.

Submit is possible until the 24th of August. The judge will select 50 submissions and three of them will be nominated. The winner will receive her or his prize during the Award Gala in September. More information: pinkribbonaward.nl

The program of the Amsterdam International Fashion week is announced! From 13 to 17 July we can enjoy al lot of fashion inspiration, because the schedule looks very promising.

Wednesday 13th: The Opening
The label Spijkers and Spijkers will open the Fashion Week with their haute couture collection. The Dutch designers duo is a favourite guest in the Parisian fashion world. Also designer Tony Cohen will show his new collection on the first day of the AIFW.

Thursday 14th: Talent Day
This day is for talents. The young designers get the chance to show their collection at national and international press. There is also a show of the five best master students of fashion school ARTEZ.

Friday 15th: Business Day
Besides the catwalk shows, there will be companies who share their knowledge with designers. The business side is also very important!

Saturday 16th: The Green Fashion Competition
Responsible business is more important than ever. Therefore, The Green Fashion Competition and the ministry of Economy Agriculture and Innovation will start together a design competition which registration takes place on this day.

Sunday 17th: closure
The Fashion Week will end with a catwalk show also by Tony Cohen, followed by Brillant with creations of Dennis Diem.

Top model Heidi Klum wore a blue draped dress by Michael Kors during the amfAR Inspiration Gala. This event took place last night in New York, aiming to raise money for AIDS research.

Courtney Love, Alek Wek, Ke$ha and Chanel Iman were the other special guests. Jennifer Hudson -also dressed in a Michael Kors creation- gave an impressive performance. And there were prizes: actor James Franco won the Piaget Award of Inspiration and Michael Kors received the amfAR Award of Courage.
